Consider my deer, my dear

I love my word play with the word DEER and DEAR. My second deer is done and in my Etsy Shop. This one is a olive colored deer with cream lace. Pick her up before shes gone!

Artist Evenings

There has been a lot of discussion lately about my deers. My boss and I were chatting them and she told me about this artist, Rachel Denny. Its funny because my boss doesnt really "get" faux taxidermy animals. She told me after seeing these she got it a tiny bit more. Its funny how some just dont understand the craft world. These animals are just so beautiful. I couldn't find much on here but I believe shes been doing this for awhile, longer than its been so popular. I really love the big steel. He is so handsome. I wish I could have one in my house

On a side not I'm currently working on a watercolor painting on one of my deers. I'm scared its the first time ever doing it, obviously. We will see how it turns out. I will surely show you all when I'm finished.

Meet Bizzaro

This is Bizzaro. She is a stray cat that comes to the window and upsets my kitties. She is super friendly.

We call her Bizzaro because she looks very similar to Nala.  Bizzaro Nala. Just like Bizzaro Superman. Get it?

 This is Nala

 Bizzaro has been coming around for years. At night I would see her and I would think it was Nala and I would freak out that Nala got out. Nala is a strickly indoor cat, but she does like going on field trips outside.

Bizzaro likes to make funny faces and loves cat nip.

Watercolor Gestures

This week in watercolor we've been doing three and half minute gesture paintings. They are always from a live model. I was having a very hard time doing them.  I'm not sure why. It just wasnt clicking in me. This was the last one I did yesterday. And its the only one I've liked so far. Unfortunately I have to take Mike to the doctor today so we had to skip school. I'm a little bummed because I was hoping to finally get into my groove. We are doing it next week to. Something to look forward to. Today is my Friday, so I hope everyone has a good weekend.

Skunks are cute!

I was doing some tattoo research and I came across the best thing in the world! I laughed and laughed and laughed. I dont know why. I think I just needed sleep last night. Feelin' a bit woozy.  I'm pretty sure I'm going to put the prints in my bathroom! Its funny because skunks stink. So do bathrooms. Well here is the Etsy shop it came. I think she has hundreds of vintage prints. They are all pretty amazing. You should definitely look. I bought a really cute one but I'm going to wait to show you guys until I get it.

Consider My Deer Project Finally

This is it! The final first prototype of a deer that has been in the making for about a year. For once I think I can say she turned out better than I expected.  You can see how she came to be here and here.
