Today Mike and I decided to take an impromptu trip to New Buffalo, Michigan.  Its about an hour and a half drive through Indiana and then you're there. Its was a lovely picnic! I brought egg salad sandwiches, strawberries, oranges, pasta salad and a few other yummies. Its was warm in the sun but very windy. I've been there a few times with my family, mostly in the fall. I for sure want to go back when its really nice.

Lastly, look at these lake front houses! I want to live in this bright blue one. Lots for sale! ;)

Attic Updates

Mike and my attic/house is still being worked on, and coming along nicely. I dont have any photos of the progress but I do have photos of the insulation that was the original insulation. Its pretty awesome. All of the insulation homes have now is usually fluffy yellow stuff in between brown paper garbage bags. ... that's what it looks like to me. I guess what they used in the 1930's was just plain old newspaper. Anything they had, which included postcards. I love looking through the paper. This particular section was just for ladies. Its had a two page spread that was all about older men marring younger ladies. There also was an article about men wearing hats. Before all of the drywall goes up in the attic I hope we can pull down as much of this old paper as possible. Its beautiful!

I am so in love with this song now thanks to Blue Valentine. Mike and I are just listening to it over and over. Must find the vinyl!!!!!  Why does it look kinda creepy? NO Clue!

Mike and I went to Hobby Lobby today to pick up a few crafts. I followed Mike into a isle I dont usually go into and I saw these cute  nesting dolls. I had to have them. I want to custom paint them into something super cute. Should I go classic or something different? Here is some of my inspiration.

DIY Cardigan makeover

This is my super easy makeover to a cardigan that was okay.  I was always unsure about this cardigan. I'm not a glitter kinda girl. I snipped off all the old plastic "bedazzles".

Grabbed a bunch of vintage buttons and spread them around  randomly. Then stuck them in a cardboard so I didnt lose the placement. Some pink thread and ......
