Ode to...
My grandfather just pasted away a week ago and I wanted to share some of the photos Ive come across since his passing. My grandma found of photo album of all of his personal photos and it is absolutely stunning. My grandpa was a hunk, in every photo there is a different girl. Wonder where those ladies are now.. Then there are some photos from when he went off to the war. I love everything from the 1940s, so I almost have no words for how much I love these photos. My grandpas step-sister gave my family a big box of photos we've have never seen. I cant wait to go through them and share some more.
I just want to say I appreciate all the condolences, but I really dont want any on this post. Just want to share the beauty of the photos.

New Year Update
Wow. It's really hard to start blogging again after such a long absence. All I have done for the last three months is school and work. It is almost like I dont know what to say or honestly who I am writing to. I dont know who reads my blog anymore. With facebook, twitter, and instagram, does anyone want to see a photo of myself three times in a row? I am bad expressing my words, but maybe I will try to be more vocal. Then that will make my blog something worth looking at.
Just to put it in words. This past year I have painted about 78 paintings. I think that is pretty damn impressive. Some were for school, some were for commisions, and some were for fun.
That breaks down to about:
30 days of Daily Creature feature
30 school paintings
12 just for me paintings
6 commissions (the most I've ever done)
The part that bums me out is how many more commissions I could have done, if only I had the time to do them. If I didnt have to work part time I would be able to do much more. I guess that's what the summer is for.
I just finished my third semester of watercolor. Three more to go! This semester was all dedicated to animals which is write up my alley. I loved it. Animals are what I want to dedicate my entire artist career to. I did more paintings, but these are my favorites and some are still at school.
My next semester is dedicated to the human form, which means 16 weeks of painting naked people. I am also taking another life drawing class. That equals 5 hours a day drawing/painting naked people. I better get good at it.
See you soon,
Rebecca

This is not the full grasshopper painting.
This was just my original sketch.
