This is my self portrait that I painted for my watercolor class. I wanted to show how I went from the drawing to the final painting. In some art books they show a step by step and its so ridiculous. They will start with a drawing, then a light wash, and then a fully rendered painting. It only takes 3 steps? Oh wait it doesn't. This painting took me ten hours to finish, and it was just homework. How many people do you know that spend ten hours on one assignment? I am not a fan of painting people so this is a challenge. I am getting better. It was also a bit of a breakthrough. I think it's a way to better develop my techniques and rhythm.
Thanks for listening. <3

Snow Day!
We have had very little snow this winter. That is sad because I love the snow. Today at 8am it started snowing hard and hasn't stopped yet. So Mike and I took a snow day from school and stayed home.
Today, March 5, is also our 5 year anniversary. It's like our golden anniversary. We are trying to save on money so we didn't do a lot. Although, I revived this beautiful druzy ring. I am so in love and photos don't do it justice.
Then we went outside and shoveled and played in the snow. I lost the snow ball fight. After being wet and cold we drove up and got some easy dinner.
Now to lay in a warm bed and watch Surviverman. It makes me plenty happy.
